In January 2017, Brynhyfryd Medical Centre in Swansea partnered with 1 Vision Solar to install a 33.7 kWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system, aiming to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Design and Installation
The installation presented challenges due to the trapezoidal profile of the Kingspan roof. However, 1 Vision Solar's skilled engineers completed the project within a week, ensuring minimal disruption to the medical centre's operations. To enhance safety, a Santon Firefighter Gateway was integrated into the system. This device deactivates the solar array in the event of a fire, reducing potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Environmental and Financial Impact
The solar PV system is projected to generate approximately 116,910 kWh annually, leading to an estimated reduction of 81,000 kg in CO₂ emissions each year. Financially, the medical centre anticipates a return on investment of £350,730 over two decades, highlighting the economic benefits of adopting renewable energy solutions.
This project exemplifies 1 Vision Solar's commitment to delivering tailored renewable energy solutions that meet the specific needs of clients, contributing to environmental sustainability and operational cost savings.
