In June 2019, 1 Vision Solar partnered with CMBE to install a 94.7 kWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system on Swansea University's IMPACT Building, enhancing the facility's sustainability and energy efficiency.

Design and Installation

The installation utilised Renusol standing seam clamps to securely attach the solar panels to the building's roof without penetrating the surface. This method preserves the roof's integrity while accommodating thermal expansion. The clamps are carefully aligned and tightened to ensure stability and performance.

Environmental and Financial Impact

The solar PV system is projected to generate approximately 71,908 kWh of renewable energy annually, leading to an estimated reduction of 56,820 kg in CO₂ emissions each year. Financially, the system is expected to yield a return on investment of £215,724 over 20 years, demonstrating the economic benefits of adopting renewable energy solutions.
