1 Vision Solar partnered with Denmark & White Ltd. to install a 2.25 kWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the historic Old Polegate Station in East Sussex. This project aimed to enhance the building's energy efficiency while preserving its architectural integrity.

System Components and Design

The installation comprised nine 260 W Risen solar panels mounted using a non-penetrative ballasted system. This approach involved placing Valk 10° frames onto the roof, secured with ballast blocks to ensure stability without compromising the roof's structure.

Installation Process

1 Vision Solar's MCS-accredited installation team completed the project efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption. The system was designed following a comprehensive site visit by Director Paul Williams, taking into account local weather conditions and structural considerations.

Environmental and Financial Impact

The solar PV system is projected to generate approximately 2,358 kWh of renewable energy annually, leading to an estimated reduction of 1,350 kg in CO₂ emissions each year. Financially, the system is expected to yield a return on investment of £7,074 over 20 years, demonstrating the economic benefits of adopting renewable energy solutions.
